Dinner Review – Spoon

Had our first and only “fine” dining experience in Paris, at a restaurant called Spoon (Chef-Patron, Alain Ducasse).

No Michelin star, but boy was it fun! We went for a menu option which would get us four different and random courses, at the Chef’s choosing, for €84. Good, strong flavors, textures and variety, more than made up for the slightly lacking preparation (an oil-slick left on the plate is unnecessary). Deep green vegetable soup, sesame coated squid, and bubble-gum ice-cream (after much discussion, we agree double-bubble), as a few examples, the best part was the mystery of the next course, and the testing of each others dish.

I am inspired to try my hand at vegetable foams upon my return.
